Doch aktuelle amerikanische Filmerfolge wie das Hollywood-Remake des japanischen Gruselschockers 'The Ring' von Dreamworks, der bisher über 123 Millionen Dollar an den Kassen verdient hat, und der rechtzeitig zu Halloween in den amerikanischen Kinos gestrandete Thriller 'Ghost Ship' mit dem simplen Werbeslogan 'Sea Evil' bestätigen eins: die Faszination Horror lebt.

Von Klassikern wie 'The Exorcist', 'The Omen' und 'Poltergeist', über 80er Trash wie 'Friday the 13th', 'Halloween' und 'The toxic Avenger' bis hin zur jüngeren Vergangenheit mit Streifen wie 'Scream', 'Jason X', 'The Others' und 'Signs'. Viele von uns sind von dem Stoff angezogen, der uns eigentlicht ängstig, ekelt und im Schlaf noch nach dem Kinobesuch terrorisiert.
